It has been stripped down, cleaned and lubricated etc. It has had a new belt fitted, flywheel oiled and tape path cleaned. The head is in very good condition. The casing has been deep cleaned and polished.
The volume output is strong with a good frequency response and no crackle on the volume control.
The plunger mechanism has been cleaned and re-lubricated, and the channel selector works effortlessly, including the super-cool rotating track display behind the little window!
The unit will run off a DC adaptor, 'C' batteries or mains power with a step-down transformer (this requires 110VAC as they were never sold in the UK). I'll be happy to advise the new owner about a suitable DC adaptor.
It is a vintage item (around 50 years old!), so there is fair wear and tear for the age; but overall a very nice example of this rare model. Colour-wise, there is only minor/modest UV discolouration on this one (the unit still retains much of its original blue colour and these can turn almost green over time). Please see the photos for condition, as they were taken on the day of the listing.
A very rare opportunity to acquire a working example in the UK (the only one currently for sale as far as I know). No huge shipping costs, import duties or 20% VAT to pay, plus most in the USA are 'untested' or not working.
