JVC Vintage Radio Cassette Recorder with 4 Band Radio. A great sounding example of this rare model, which has just been serviced for sale. This one has just had a full service - believed to be a unique for this model on the market today. A genuine unit, with all rear casing screws and internal screws original and tightening properly.
A lovely portable boombox from the 1980's for the office, home, or simply for decoration, with the benefit of being serviced. The tape mechanism works perfectly in all directions, and the radio is clear. The aerial is complete and holds it's position well.
I have stripped the unit, replaced the cassette belt with a precision-ground DeckTech belt, cleaned the heads, capstan, pinch roller, mechanism and controls. I have also re-greased the cassette door, and cleaned the internals.
The battery terminals are clean, and the battery cover is present.
The unit is working well, with a nice frequency response and effective tone control.
The FM stereo works perfectly, and it also picks up has MW, LW and SW, with a fine tuner for the SW radio. I found loads of SW stations - these old JVC's had great radios!
The handle is intact, and pivots well.
It is a vintage item (around years old!), so there is of course wear and tear associated with age - paint wear, dings etc - but it is overall in good unusable condition for its vintage to be fair, with original knobs, etc - please see the photos for condition, as they were taken on the day of the listing.
Packaging will be thorough, tracked and insured, although you are very welcome to collect in person, with a demonstration. Please note that this is for the stereo only. Cassette and power lead are for demonstration only. The power lead is the readily available 'Figure of 8' cable, so I do not like to risk transit damage by including them with the boomboxes.
