JVC Vintage Radio Cassette Recorder with 4 Band Radio in excellent overall condition. Fully working and tested. One for the collector or enthusiast looking for a clean, serviced example. The Biphonic 'wide' mode still functions effectively.

A solid, original and great sounding example of this rare model, which has just been serviced for sale. This one has just had a full service - believed to be a unique for this model on the market today with the exception of my other examples for sale (please see my other listings).

A lovely portable boombox from the 1980's for the office, home, or simply for decoration, with the benefit of being serviced. The tape mechanism works perfectly in all directions, and the radio is clear.

I have stripped the unit, replaced the cassette belts with Decktech precision ground units, cleaned the heads, capstan, pinch roller, mechanism and controls.

The tape speed has been calibrated, head alignment and channel output checked (please see photos).

The cassette door still opens smoothly and slowly with it's dampened mechanism.

The battery terminals are clean, and the unit is working brilliantly, with a clear loud bass and effective tone controls.

There are stereo external mic inputs, and external speaker outputs, headphone socket, plus a DIN connector for integration with other units if required.

The recording level works correctly, with the meter lights reflecting input level. The condenser mics record to tape and radio very well.

The FM stereo works perfectly with proper pilot signal alignment and with the tell-tale light. It also has MW, LW and SW, with a fine tuner for the SW radio. There's not much broadcast there now, but I picked up the odd station on those too.

A solid, heavy unit, and plenty loud for it's size!

The handle is strong and intact, with genuine mirror-finish chrome end caps.

It is a vintage item (nearly 45 years old!), so there is of course some wear and tear associated with age - but it is overall in excellent condition for its vintage to be fair, with original knobs, etc  - please see the photos for condition, as they were taken on the day of the listing.

Packaging will be thorough, tracked and insured, although you are very welcome to collect in person, with a demonstration. Please note that the auction is for the stereo only. Cassette and power lead are for demonstration only. The power lead is the readily available 'Figure of 8' cable, so I do not like to risk transit damage by including them with the vintage, heavy boomboxes.
