Terms of service
SHIPPING
We aim to dispatch all orders within 1-3 business days. All items are thoroughly
checked, filmed working with the customer name & date, and thoroughly packaged
prior to dispatch. As all items are unique, often large, delicate & valuable,
appropriate precautions are taken to ensure that these vintage treasures arrive
safely in their new home - and packing may take a little time. It will be worth the
wait - we promise!
We will provide a tracking number once an order is booked for transit and within
three business days of order confirmation. All items are carefully and thoroughly
packed, so tracking information may depend on the finished packaged size, weight
and value(and therefore carrier). We use reputable carriers but please note that
actual delivery dates may vary without warning from the initial estimate. All
tracking information about your package is provided by the shipping service. We
have no control over shipping times and logistics once an item is dispatched
(although they rarely, if ever miss the projected date)! We are available Monday -
Friday from 9:00am -5:00pm and are usually able to respond within one business
day. Please contact us immediately if the parcel is not as expected.
Incorrect Shipping Information / Undeliverable Items
Buyers are responsible for providing accurate and deliverable shipping
information. Buyers are responsible for any additional charges for items that are
returned to Retro Restos Vintage Electronics due to incorrect shipping information,
inability to properly receive shipments at the provided address, or failure to pick up
shipments that are held by the carrier. Charges include: duty charges for
international deliveries, or re-shipping merchandise to correct address. If the buyer
decides they no longer want the product due to an undeliverable address, they
may request a refund. Refunds will only be issued once Retro Restos Vintage
Electronics has received and checked the returned merchandise. The buyer will
not be refunded for incurred shipping costs, re-stocking fees of £20% (minimum
£15) will apply to cover the pre-dispatch verification checks & video, order
processing, packaging time and payment reversal time etc.
If an undeliverable item is returned to Retro Retros Vintage Electronics we will
contact the buyer in an attempt to successfully deliver the package. If we do not
receive a response within 14 days to correct the delivery information and/or pay
any additional costs associated with the subsequent delivery, the order will be
refunded, minus our original shipping and handling costs for the undeliverable
shipment. Re-stocking fees of 20% (minimum £15) will apply. Should any
undeliverable item be returned damaged RRVE reserve to right to withhold an
amount commensurate with the cost of repair/replacement, up to, and including
the full value of the item.
It is the buyer’s responsibility to use the tracking information provided by RRVE to
ensure safe delivery to the buyer. Retro Retros Vintage Electronics is not
responsible for packages after the tracking information provided by the shipping
carrier states or indicates they have been delivered to the shipping address
provided by the buyer at time of purchase. This includes issues after delivery such
as theft of unattended packages, damage, etc.
In the event a package is lost, stolen or damaged in transit, you may be asked to
provide additional information to facilitate a resolution.
PO Boxes
Retro Retros Vintage Electronics delivers to personal and registered business
addresses in the UK only. We do not offer delivery to PO Boxes at this time.
International Shipping
Due to international restrictions on speaker carriage (especially Boomboxes), in
conjunction with the fragility and value of vintage equipment, We do not offer
delivery outside of the UK at this time.
LOCAL COLLECTION
You are very welcome to collect your item(s) in person. All items listed for sale can
be made available for collection from our premises in Trowbridge, Wiltshire
between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. As the items are held in a secure off-site
location and need to pass our ‘pre-dispatch testing,’ please allow 24 hours before
we can make an item available for collection.
RETURNS
We value transparency and honesty, and endeavour to make our listings as clear
as possible. As each and every item is different or unique, we are unable to accept
returns (except for mechanical defects not previously mentioned). If you feel your
item is not working as described, please message us so we can help troubleshoot
and remedy the issue.
If you wish to make a return, you must initiate contact within 3 days of receipt.
Once the return is approved, items must be shipped back to Retro Retros Vintage
Electronics within 10 days for repair or replacement on a case by case basis.
To initiate a return, contact retroretrosvintageelectronics@gmail.com. All returns
must be authorised by RRVE before they are sent back. Return shipping is the
responsibility of the buyer. All returns must be shipped back within 10 days of
receiving authorisation from Retro Retros Vintage Electronics.
Defective Items
Any functional and/or cosmetic defects should be addressed within 3 days of
receiving your package, as these will be evident upon delivery. Please include as
much information as possible about the nature of your problem. We may ask you
for more information about the nature of your issue in an attempt to troubleshoot
and/or provide you with a successful resolution.
Return Condition
All items must be condition as sent by us, with any original packaging and all
parts, documents and components intact and included. Opened items returned in
less-than-resellable condition will be subject to an increased restocking fee.
Bonus/Free Items
Occasionally Retro Retros Vintage Electronics has promotions in which an item is
provided for meeting a certain spending threshold. In the case a return needs to
be made on such an order, the bonus/free item must also be returned to get a
partial refund. If that item is not included in the return, the order will be
refunded less the value of the item as listed on the site.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Reviving, servicing and using vintage electronic devices is a unique and magical
experience that can sometimes require a little bit of specialised know-how. How to
get optimal results from certain retro formats may no longer be the common
knowledge it once was. Although refreshed, our items are typically 40-50 years
old, and will have inevitable signs of wear. Often a device is not broken, there’s
just a trick to using it. That’s not to say it’s always operator error — shipping or
simply the unknowable effects of age can also play a role in creating issues. For
these reasons, we are happy to help troubleshoot your specific issues with the
goal of returning your device to working order as soon as possible. Demonstration
and collection is welcome.
Important: Do not attempt to open the Product or remove any protective caps or
stickers attached to the Product. Opening the Product or removing protective caps
may cause damage that is not covered by our return policy. Evidence that a
customer attempted to perform repairs without instruction from Retro Retros
Vintage Electronics on a Product will void any return. Only Retro Retros Vintage
Electronics should perform service on the Product.
What This Warranty Does Not Cover
The warranty does not cover defects or damage due to alteration, accident, or
misuse beyond the control of Retro Retros Vintage Electronics. Defects or damage
resulting from misuse, abuse, or negligence will void this warranty. This warranty
does not cover cosmetic wear inherent to a refurbished vintage item, nor wear
resulting from subsequent usage by the customer during, or outside of, the
warranty period.
This limited Warranty does not apply to any non-Retro Retros Vintage Electronics-
branded products (except for devices refurbished by Retro Retros Vintage
Electronics), new or used products from a third-party, any software, cables, straps,
protective cases, batteries, or any used hardware products. This does not affect
rights under applicable consumer law.
This limited Warranty does not apply: (a) to consumable parts, such as films,
batteries, or protective coatings that are designed to diminish over time, unless
failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (b) to cosmetic
damage, including but not limited to scratches or dents unless failure has occurred
due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (c) to damage caused by use with a
third party component or product; (d) to damage caused by accident, abuse,
misuse, mishandling, misplacement, or alteration; (e) to damage caused by fire,
earthquake, electrical power problems, theft, or other external cause; (f) to
damage caused by operating the Product outside Retro Retros Vintage
Electronics's published guidelines and/or with incompatible accessories or a third
party device; (g) to damage caused by service performed by anyone who is not
authorised by Retro Retros Vintage Electronics; (h) to a Product that has been
modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of Retro
Retros Vintage Electronics; (i) to defects caused by normal wear and tear or
otherwise due to the normal aging of the Product; (j) to damages or defects due to
a failure to follow operating or maintenance instructions or due to services
performed by anyone other than Retro Retros Vintage Electronics; (k) if any Retro
Retros Vintage Electronics serial number has been removed or defaced from the
Product; (l) to damage caused as a result of improper transportation or
packing/packaging when returning the Product; or (m) if Retro Retros Vintage
Electronics receives information from relevant public authorities that the product
has been stolen or proof of purchase cannot be presented.
This limited Warranty does not apply to any Product purchased from a retailer
located outside the U.S. or Canada.
Warranty Limitations Subject to Consumer Law
To the extent permitted by law, this limited Warranty and the remedies set forth are
exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties, remedies, and conditions, whether
oral, written, statutory, express, or implied. Retro Retros Vintage Electronics
disclaims all statutory and implied warranties, including, but not limited to,
warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose and warranties
against hidden or latent defects, to the extent permitted by law. Retro Retros
Vintage Electronics's maximum liability is limited to the purchase price you paid for
the Product. In so far as such warranties cannot be disclaimed, Retro Retros
Vintage Electronics limits the duration and remedies of such warranties to the
duration of this express limited Warranty. Some states do not allow limitations on
how long an implied warranty may last, in which case the limitation described
above may not apply.
Limitation of Liability
Except as provided in this limited Warranty and to the maximum extent permitted
by law, Retro Retros Vintage Electronics is not responsible for direct, indirect,
special, incidental, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages resulting from
any breach of warranty or condition, or under any other legal theory, including, but not limited to, overhead expenses, loss of use, loss of revenue, loss of actual or
anticipated profits, loss of the use of money, loss of anticipated savings, loss of
business, loss of opportunity, loss of productivity, loss of goodwill, loss of
reputation, or any indirect or consequential loss or damage howsoever caused
including the replacement of equipment and property.
The foregoing shall not apply to death or personal injury claims, or any statutory
liability for intentional and gross negligent acts and/or omissions.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
damages, in which case the above limitation or exclusion may not apply.
How Consumer Law Relates to This Limited Warranty
This limited Warranty gives specific legal rights, in addition to other rights that may
vary from state to state.
General
If any term of this limited Warranty is held to be illegal, void, or unenforceable, the
legality, validity, or enforceability of the remaining terms shall not be affected or
impaired. This limited Warranty is governed by and construed under the laws of
the country in which the Product purchase took place. Retro Retros Vintage
Electronics or its successor in title is the warrantor under this limited Warranty.
Retro Retros Vintage Electronics reserves the right to amend or change this policy
over time as necessary.
Final Sale Policy
1 All Sales Are Final: For items marked "Final Sale" or "All Sales Final," all sales
made through Retro Retros Vintage Electronics are final. Once an order is
placed, it cannot be cancelled, returned, or exchanged. By making a
purchase, you agree to this policy.
2 No Refunds or Exchanges: We do not offer refunds or exchanges on any
products marked as final sale, unless otherwise stated in specific product
listings or required by applicable laws.
3 Product Descriptions: We strive to be as accurate as possible when describing
our products. However, Retro Retros Vintage Electronics does not warrant
that product descriptions or other content on our site are accurate, complete,
reliable, current, or error-free. If a product you purchase does not match its
listed description, your sole remedy is to contact our customer service
within 14 days of receiving the item for assistance.
4 Product Availability: All products on Retro Retros Vintage Electronics are
subject to availability. We reserve the right to limit the quantity of products
we supply, and to discontinue any product at any time without notice.
5 Defective or Damaged Products: In the rare event that a product you receive is
defective or damaged and this defect is not stated in the listing, please
contact our customer service within 14 days with evidence of the defect or
damage. We will review your claim and, at our discretion, may offer a
replacement, store credit, or other remedy in accordance with applicable
laws.
6 Modifications: Retro Retros Vintage Electronics reserves the right to modify
these "All Sales Final" terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.
Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our site. It is your
responsibility to review these terms regularly.
