The frequency response is excellent with the original JVC woofers plus genuine tweeters with a full sound and clear trebles. The tape mechanism works perfectly in all directions, and the radio is clear. All controls work perfectly with no crackle.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eI have stripped the unit, replaced the cassette belts with precision ground belts (I never use cheap, wobbly ones), cleaned the heads, capstan, pinch roller, mechanism and controls. All controls and switches have been cleaned and lubricated on the board itself. The motor has also been oiled, and all rubbers treated with 'Rubber Renue' renovator.
